Why choose this program

The Diploma in Ground Handling with Flight Dispatch & RTR (TWA-004) is Tiger Wings’ most career-focused operations diploma – the only programme in South India that produces graduates qualified simultaneously for ground handling, airline OCC (Operations Control Centre), and dispatcher roles.

The flight dispatch component is developed in alignment with DGCA CPL dispatch requirements and prepares students for the commercial dispatcher career pathway. The RTR (Radio Telephony Restricted) component is delivered by a DGCA-licensed trainer and prepares students directly for the DGCA RTR examination.

Frequently asked questions

Is this course suitable for someone who wants to become an airline pilot later?
The RTR and meteorology components of TWA-004 are excellent preparation for a future CPL pathway. However, if your primary goal is to become a pilot, TWA-007 (CPL Ground Theory) is the dedicated programme. TWA-004 is better suited for students targeting dispatcher, OCC, or ground operations careers — or those who want operational aviation experience while deciding on the pilot track.
A Flight Dispatcher (also called an Operations Dispatcher or Flight Operations Officer) is a DGCA-recognised aviation professional with equal authority to the Captain in releasing a flight. They prepare the Operational Flight Plan (OFP), file the fuel requirement, check weather at origin and destination, verify aircraft technical status (MEL), and monitor flights in real time from the airline’s Operations Control Centre (OCC). This is one of aviation’s most technically demanding and well-paid non-pilot roles.
RTR (Radio Telephony Restricted — Aeronautical) is a DGCA-mandated licence for anyone who operates aviation radio equipment in Indian airspace. It is NOT a general communication course — it is a regulatory requirement for ground staff, dispatchers, and pilots who communicate on VHF aviation frequencies. Tiger Wings’ RTR training is conducted by a DGCA-licensed trainer and follows the exact DGCA examination format.
The Tiger Wings Flight Planning Lab includes navigation computers (circular slide rules), aeronautical charts (AIP India sectional and en-route charts), approach plate collections, METAR/TAF decode practice sets, ICAO FPL completion pads, and a simulated OFP analysis workstation. Students work through real-world weather packages and complete full ICAO flight plans for Chennai–Mumbai, Delhi–Bangalore, and other common Indian routes.

We are a premier aviation training institute dedicated to shaping the next generation of industry leaders. With over two decades of experience, we provide an unparalleled educational experience designed for ambition.
